Where do u get that Vanilla Flavor?

This question been bugging me for a while... You got strawberries to make strawberry flavor.. you got cocoa to make choc late flavor... from where do we get vanilla flavor??

It seem to be derived from a fruit which grows on an orchid plant (Vanillia planifolia)... Interesting fact... the vanilla flowers blossoms up for just one day... and only one type of bee (Melipone bees) is said help in their pollination... so the farmers have to artificially pollinate em...

Oh and yea there is a nice story to this vanilla... seems like once upon a time in a land called Totonac in Mexico lived a princess Xanat, she was forbidden to marry mortals by her dad... so she eloped into the wild forest with her lover... but unfortunately them or fortunately they were caught and beheaded... it is said that the spot where their blood touched is where the tropical vine of orchid grew...
